Solution Detail REV LIMITER

REV LIMITER

A soft rev limiter is a functionality that can be implemented in modern cars.

This feature is unique to each car and it will be setup to match the car’s absolute RPM limiter, in order to protect the engine.

By default a modern car limits the maximum revolutions per minute (RPM) of the engine, when it is in Neutral/Park mode. However, removing this limiter can have some advantages for certain tuning enthusiasts.

One of the benefits you may experience when removing this soft rev limiter is being able to hear the results of Burbles or Popcorn in Neutral/Park mode, something that may be impossible for some modern cars, since the soft rev limiter usually kicks in before the aforementioned modules can take effect.

Another benefit is an enhanced engine sound and being able to hit the car’s natural rev limiter even at a standstill.
