TPROT stands for Tuning Protection. It is an embedded security feature used by manufacturers.
Solutions are currently available for the following ECUs; they have been fully tested and are problem-free.
EDC17CP44
EDC17C60
MED17.4.4
MED 17.X
A solution for this ECU is currently in the development and testing phase.
It will be added to the ECU list very soon.
MED 17.5.5
to stop unauthorized reading, writing, or remapping of the engine software.
What TPROT DoesBlocks OBD Access: It prevents standard diagnostic tools from reading or writing modified performance files directly through the vehicle's OBD port.
Levels of Security: It comes in various levels (ranging up to TP13), with higher levels adding password layers and strict memory locks.
Requires Special Procedures: High levels of TPROT force technicians to work in Bench Mode or Boot Mode (opening the ECU physically or connecting directly to the board pins) to bypass or patch the protection.
Why Tuners Encounter It When attempting an engine remapping or performance tuning, TPROT acts as a digital barrier.
To safely write a modified file, a tuner must perform a "TPROT OFF" patch, often using specialized tools (like KTAG, Flex, or CMD Flash) to unlock the ECU's memory boundaries.
If you have requests for ECUs other than these, you can mention them in the comments. Priority will be given to the most requested ECUs.
